Hawthorn Branch Necklace

This hawthorn branch necklace is a celebration of one of my favorite trees. There's so much folklore around hawthorn, as a protector of the heart, and it bringing bad luck to those who chop one down. Much like a rose, these trees have gorgeous blossoms and equally prickly thorns. I like this necklace as a talisman for extra protection for sensitive open hearts. The branch is cast in silver from a wax I carved. The drops are sawed and hammered from gold fill. The chain is also sterling silver with a black patina and a sturdy lobster clasp.
