Hawthorn Gothic Arch Necklace

My current obsession is Gothic arches. I've loved the form for a long time, but right now I love thinking of them as doorways into the divine. I'm so excited to play more with the poetry of doorways in my work. This necklace is one of my newest, a hawthorn branch growing from this archway. The hawthorn branch I carve from wax and cast in silver. The archway I cut from silver and fuse together. The black is a nice and sturdy patina that brings contrast to the silver and allows you to not have to clean it.! The chain is also silver with a black patina and a lobster clasp
